Nina Yang is Ascendas-Singbridge’s Chief Executive Officer for Sustainable Urban Development (SUD). In this role, Nina is responsible for the Group’s urbanization platform and oversees the Group’s investment in large scale urban development projects in partnership with the local governments in China, India and other territories.
Some of SUD’s more prominent investment includes the Guangzhou Knowledge City in Guangdong, PRC; the Chengdu Hi-tech Innovation Park in Sichuan, PRC; and the Amaravati City Start-Up Area in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Nina has more than 25 years of experience in urban planning and building design. Prior to joining Ascendas-Singbridge, Nina was the Executive Director with CPG Consultants Pte Ltd, a leading multi-disciplinary company in Singapore providing building and infrastructure consultancy services. Nina was involved in the organization’s transformation from a government department to a privatized entity. Her experience straddled both the private and public sectors, local and overseas. Aside from designing the various public buildings and infrastructure projects, Nina also spearheaded the foray into the design of International Schools in UAE. In Singapore, she is also recognized for her work in the domain of water sensitive design in projects with strong environmental emphasis.
In the arena of urban development, Nina has followed through the various waves of urban growth in China. She was stationed in China for two years to set up offices in Shanghai and Suzhou. She was the key driver of the urban planning group that spearheaded the provision of urban solutions to cities in China, India, Vietnam and Myanmar. She led a consortium to assist the Myanmar government in the economic positioning, master planning and investment promotion of the Kyauk Phyu Deep Sea Port and Special Economic Zone. And she is now leading the ASB Group’s portfolio investment in Sustainable Urban Development.
Nina graduated from Harvard University with a Master in Design Studies in Real Estate Finance and Urban Development in 1998. She also holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Honors) Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the National University of Singapore.
